SOME THINGS BEAR REPEATING

Our financial decisions are often shaped by those around us. Social media allows "those around us" to not only be those physically near us but really those around the globe.

Some Things Bear Repeating

I (and likely everyone reading this) have heard the caution about social media- "you are comparing your worst day to someone else's best day."

This is worth remembering from a financial context.

The temptation is to compare our budget vacation to Mark's premium vacation and then our budget shoes to Jim's premium shoes and then our budget car to Sarah's premium car. This constant comparison of our worst to another's best breeds discontentment and may push us to make purchases we can't afford.

One of the best budget actions you can take today may simply be to take a break from social media and the incessant comparison trap it can become.
