DON'T SKIP THANKSGIVING

Next week on Thursday we celebrate one of the greatest holidays of the year... Thanksgiving! It is a wonderful time to spend with family and friends. It is also a great reminder to remember our blessings and practice contentment.

It is somewhat ironic that Thanksgiving - where we give thanks is followed immediately by Black Friday - where we frantically buy more.
This is not necessarily a post to encourage you to not spend money on Black Friday but rather to not skip over Thanksgiving in the process. Remember to pause - maybe even for the full week - and count your blessings. Allow recounting your blessings to result in generosity, rest, and ultimately thanks to God- the provider of all.
I was recently having a conversation with my 5yr-old-son regarding needs vs. wants. Food we both agreed was a need. A fireplace on the other hand we did not agree. He tried very hard to convince me it was a need. It is a helpful exercise to play as it can remind you how much you already have that is well beyond your basic needs.
Praise God for his generosity.
